This eight-mile trail is marked by more than 20 access points, allowing you to choose your own adventure. Paddle the tranquil waters of the Davis Lake area, a popular fishing destination and one of two places where you can standup paddle board on the river in the city. Or enjoy the swift and fun paddling chutes in other areas of the river. Either way, you’ll have plenty of opportunities to spot birds, fish, turtles and other wildlife.
Eagleland Zone Paddling Trail
San Antonio
This is an easy 40-minute float on the San Antonio River in San Antionio. The launch and recovery area is located approximately 20 feet north of the railroad bridge between Eagleland and Lone Star and the trail is about half a mile long. Enjoy the stunning rural landscape and lush foliage along this relaxing paddle.
King William Zone
San Antonio
Another beginner friendly section of the San Antonio River, the King William Paddling Trail offers a serene paddle on the river. The launch point is found near the San Antonio River Authority’s main office, allowing easy access to explore history, art, bridges and good eats in a single afternoon. The entire trail is about one and a half miles. Experience a diverse range of wildlife, from hawks to turtles, co-existing with historic and modern buildings.
Medina River Natural Area
San Antonio
This 511-acre oasis is a beautiful park along the Medina River. The river is clear and beautiful offering a scenic paddle for kayakers. Other features of the park include paved and dirt trails, covered pavilion, camping, a variety of terrain and wildlife.
Elmendorf Lake Park
San Antonio
A quite oasis in the city of San Antionio, Elmendorf Lake Park is 30-acre lake front park. Launch your kayak from the dock and explore the vast lake and its lush greenery. Visitors can also enjoy two miles of walking trails, educational plaques, a playground, a splash pad and a swimming pool.
